XP: Slow buffering when playing video in IE

For some time now I have been experiencing this annoying problem: everytime I try to play video from within IE it takes about 2 minutes to buffer before it starts playing. And it plays just fine if I use WMP directly. Anyone knows how to fix it?

Seems the problem is with Internet Explorer. RealOne has a similar problem, the buffering is alright, but the video afterwards is really slow, whereas in the stand-alone player it runs just fine...
