well, I've gotten all updates (running xp pro) but still, everytime I shut down, it just hangs. Well, kinda hard to explain, it'll exit out of windows and go to that other screen where it says "windows is now shutting down" .. after I see that, it just stops responding, my mouse stops moving, just stops (I guess thats when its supposed to shut down completely).. when I turn my computer back on, it boots into win normally, no scandisk, no nothing, ... anyone know what the problem could be?.. (known issue's) Any help would be greatly appreciated..

I would read some threads about APCI or APM that have been of this forum. There are some shutdown issues not exactly like yours, but could easily be related.

Most of them have to do with whether or not power managment was on in your BIOS when you installed or not.

Could be related.

Yeah, there are some shutdown problems with XP. I don't have them with my puter but you might take a look on the net for some patchs.
