XP Service Pack 2 Breaks PCI Latency patch

I have an ABIT AT7 motherboard and I could never use the onboard firewire for file transfers until I installed George Breese's PCI latency patch. I had been holding off on installing service pack 2 because I didn't want to run into something like this however, the XP GDI buffer overflow exploit recently made public spurred me onward. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the latency patch but no luck. Any ideas?
