xp restore disk

My friend has an older Dell Desk which came with the original XP loaded. She has since downloaded all the updates. He computer is really messed up and needs a reformat and fresh install of XP. Her Dell only came with a restore disk. Can I use my OEM copy of XP on her machine and put in her key number when asked by the install?
 
Yea that'll work. In the off chance it doesn't, just give MS a call and you'll be on your way shortly.
