XP resets Speaker Settings

Hi guys,

since a couple of weeks each time I (re)boot my computer the speaker settings in the system/sounds&audio are reset to "desktop speakers". I am using the Logitech Z-560, which is 4.1 and always set the speaker settings to "5.1", as my DVD player and TV player is reading this information for playback.

Does anybody have an idea why this stupid XP has started to reset this to "desktop-speaker" each time I boot my machine ?

Thanks
Speedy

Do you have SP1 installed? This happened on my PCI512 Soundblaster card and I hated it. SP1 fixed it for me.

Yes, I have SP1 installed. Seems, that in my case, SP1 may have caused the problem :D

I have not found a solution yet. Will check the Microsoft Boards on Friday.
