I am going to buy the XP Pro OS. I havnt decided on the upgrade version or the full version yet.... but I can figure that out on my own. My real question is there a way to disable the reporting to Mr. Gates that XP does short of disconnecting from the internet. I try to purchase my OS's... but not ALL my other software is stricktly .. ummm ... 1st hand.

Thanks in advanced.

There is no feature in XP to report these items to MS, sigh, who told you there was? Btw, I'm only asking to clearup and false rumors about XP. That doesn't change the fact that your a theif.

Because they don't understand it. MS is trying to coorelate the error messages together so if a certain application has a problem they information can be relayed to the vendor so it's fixed. MS has a vested interest in 'stability' in the OS for both perception and cost reasons (tech support calls are expensive for them, and us)
