i'm behind a network firewall and i know that one of the ports is open. does anyone know where i can edit the xp's remote desktop's port setting in the registry so i can use that specific port? or is that not even possible?

U need to use a port that forwarded by your firewall to your computer... if you dont have access then your firewall admin needs to help.

In the case your just trying to access your home computer from work, then yes the port can be changed, its in the registry... I'll try and find a link as I cant remember it off the top of my head.

Keep in mind that if you're using the Web based remote desktop (as I do...very nice 🙂 ), you'll also need to open port 80.
