I've had linux and XP dualbooted for some time, and I created somewhat of a mess trying to install win98 also (long story, just wanted to play an older game that has a bug i couldn't fix in xp).
Anyway, bottom line is I tried to change the drive letter of my c: drive to d: (because when I booted from the win98 cd it complained that it could only install to c
using partition magic, but upon reboot (when partition magic actually implements the changes) i got an error referring to system32 (sorry, I don't have the exact message).
Bottom line is that grub still loads after post, and I can boot into linux fine, but windows stalls after the black xp screen. So I'm thinking a fixboot or fixmbr will allow windows to boot again - but I still want grub to be the boot loader. I basically just want to change what grub points to (presumably to the newly renamed partition).
So, any insight as to which command to use or perhaps a different method altogether? Thanks!
