I'd like to choose the best one for me. I've them in box but haven't install them yet. I'm still in WinME. I'm highly appreciated for any advices and personal opinions. Thank you.

PS: I forgot to mention that a friend of mine had the same computer as I owned. He's using Win XP also, he recommended me to use it. I might need some more power opinions. Thanks.

They would both work, but Windows 2000 would run faster. Windows XP really isn't happy unless it has 256MB of RAM.

Thank you, ultimatebob. I really appreciated for your opinion.
Ohh, antness I owned the RC1 only. I will get the final in Oct 25. And 180 days seem enough for me.
I just need some more votes on these two best OS from Microsoft.:) Thanks.

I'd go with Win2k. From what I've seen and heard, WinXP is only usable for a poweruser with at least 600 MHz and 256 MB RAM. Win2k needs far less power.

500MHz 196?MB ram is way more than enough to handle XP. If you find it slow, just turn off SOME of the demanding visual effects or use back the old 'classics' theme.

Thanks you all. I'm going to get another 64 MB today then I'll install Win2k. After get to know with it, I'd try XP after release in Oct 25th. Thanks again guys.
