XP RAM priority to Applications or System Cache?

What setting have you guys noticed to give the best performance. Setting RAM priority to Applications or System Cache. I read some tweak web sites that said system cache would give better performance.

I've been playing with it both ways for the last two days on my system with 384megs of RAM and I'm not sure which one is more responsive and faster.

Whats your experience?
