XP questions

Any opinons appreciated.
What do you think of xp so far if you have it (beta of course)? Does it seem better than 9x/2000 or worse. Performce hits? Boot time? etc etc. Just trying to get all users feedback on this OS. I also wonder if xp home edition will perform faster for games than proffesional.

Also....
Ok Right now I have a kyro II card which seems to do better under win2k than the 9x series. and I was thinking of getting the new ecs board that has the sis 735 chipset on it that also seems to do better under win 2k than 9x/me. Do you think this setup will perform better or worse under XP as compared to win2k?

Cant really say for sure but RC2 did not impress me at all. I had a lot of SW crap out because XP says it was not written specifically for it. It did not like my Extranet client SW and I beleive MS is trying to force you to use their VPN SW. Screw em I say. I will stick with win9x/W2k until I have no choice.

The emulation mode didn't work? Just fro mwhat I have read xp is supposed to have a emulator of sorts to run older software that wasn't written for xp. Figures ms can't even emulate themselves lol. I'll be quite honest with you. If it werent for that fact that I had lots of hardware and software that will only work under windows series I would switch to linux lol..

<< Performce hits? >>

Feels a bit slower than Windows 2000.

<< Boot time? >>

Fast.It definitely boots up faster than any other Windows OS. (perhaps except for a clean install of Win95 on a 800+ MHz system 🙂)
