XP question

On my wife's laptop while online, whenever she clicks on something...lets say something her home page, rather than the page refreshing, a completely new page opens. The result being several pages are opened after only a few clicks. It's just as if a completely new address has been entered. If I followed the same proceedure on my machine, the page just refreshes and no additional tabs show open on my lower bar. Can anyone advise as to what the issue may be with her machine?...... a setting that may need to be changed perhaps. Thanks for your help.

I assume IE6 or 7. It sounds like the option for links in the same window were changed to new window. Go to the internet properties > Reset the tab settings (if you have IE7) then go to the Advanced tab and restore the default settings. IE7 also has a nice feature under Advanced to reset all.

I will check that out. She has XP w/SP2 installed and IE7 I'm pretty sure. Thanks for your advice.

Another thing to check..make sure one of the shift keys isn't stuck on the keyboard, holding shift while clicking a link will open in a new window.
