He`s probably talking about the WinXP OS native Nvidia default drivers which don`t support OpenGL,all you have to do is install newer drivers and you then have OpenGL .
Hmmmmmmmm... interesting. I have a GeForce 2 MX400. I got the newest drivers of the NVidia site (the detonator drivers) and I get the error "You're video card doesnt not support this mode" yet it DOES. So what exactly do I have to do? pls gimme some pointers. I am new to XP

Hmm not sure but install the Windows 2000/XP NVidia Refresh Rate Fix if you want higher res in OpenGL then the default 60hz with WIN2k/XP, also see if you can find and install latest XP monitor drivers as well.
