Hi all,

I have an Epox 8rda+ with a xp2200 right now... on the way is a new Asus k8v SE Deluxe with an AMD 64 3200+

In the past, when I've swapped motherboards under XP, I've been able to simply delete all of my devices under device manager, swap the boards and do a repair install. After that, it redetects/installs the new hardware.

Just wanted to see if anyone saw a problem with this since I'm moving from a 32bit to a 64bit processor this time... I have a huge amount of apps installed & some custom hacks/configurations so I'd like to avoid a reinstall unless absolutely necessary - it'd probably take me a week to get everything just right again!

Thx!

I had to reinstall going from an nforce2 -> nforce3.

The difference is going to be in the hardware abstraction layer.

hmm... I was OK last time when I went from a via chipset to an Nforce2... did you try a repair install?
