I was installing the Windows XP service pack 2 the other day and it will not install the entire way through. It gets about down to 18 minutes left which is when it freezes. It never fails to happen. I was wondering if anyone had to get past this problem. If you have any idea on what to do it would be greatly helpfull.
Thank you

I know some people have successfully installed SP2, but the concensus in my crowd is still to avoid it like the plague. If you want some idea, Google for SP2 & don't, SP2 & "do not", SP2 & sucks, or SP2 and any of several words I can't post, here.

Others may be able to offer more specific help if you post your motherboard and other setup info. Also, try your motherboard maker's site. They may have some BIOS update or other specific info about installing SP2.

You could try slipstreaming the SP onto a cdrom. The instructions are linked to in the forums somewhere, so do a search for "slipstream."

From everything I've read, sp2 is worth it.
