Xp problems with DVD drive and shutdown

I have an asus 7v333 MB, and for some reason, everytime I go to shut down, the computer would just restart by itself. Does anyone know how to fix this? I check on tweakxp.com and can't find the NT ATM legacy interface mode to fix this. Also, they is a problem with the DVD drive, I receive a "drive not accessible", the dvd drive can't read any type of CD I place into it, but sometimes for a long period of time, it would function properly. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
