XP problem

Well i just recently got my computer up and xp isnt wanting to work. I get xp running just not completly so i start the install it gets to the very end then says pci.sys(lots of numbers) i restart then i get a ntldr is missing message..... i really need a fix. Anyone have any ideas?

yea i tryed moving the ram around and putting 1 512mb stick in and booting but nothing happens so im slipping sp2 and xppro on another cd and trying that. From what i saw the boot cd was heavily scratched
