XP problem.. Says not enough disk space

I just loaded XP and when trying to load Age of Empires it says not enough disk space on drive C. This is a full install but, I have over 16 gigs available according to the disk information. Why is it saying not enough disk space? NTFS formated and defragged.

ya this same problems happens in a few games i think, i know it happens in win2k with NHL2001, downloading that latest update for nhl2k1 fixes the problem .. have you tried the latest AOE update? ..

I don't know how I would use an update if I can't get the program to load. However, I turned off the swap file, defragged the drive again and reset the swap to 512. The program loaded. I don't know why it worked. Thanks for the reply.

I guess an update can deal with the problem before you try to load the program. I just never have used an update that way before.

Do you have the latest compatibility fixes from the Windows update site? If so, have you tried installing in compatibility mode? This one is strange as AOE installed fine here with over 100gig free, do you by chance have multiple drives/partitions? Could it be checking an almost full one for something?
