Programs have of late been slow to close . They will minimize to the taskbar , sit there for awhile , then close . Startup folder is empty , I run avg in the background , I also have spybot(not running , and adaware , also not running in the background ) This just started . Have scanned and scanned , no virus or any malware ? IE 7 also . ?? Help .
 
Whats that to do with XP Pro Sp3?

if you make a new user account and log on with that, then do the same close program routing, are the apps closing slow still?
 
Same same , I am admin . Wierd as the machine was fine . 3.2 intel chip , intel perl board 3 gigs ram and two large h/d's . The power supply is new and 600 watts (cooler master)
I don't know what it could be , the machine isn't exposed to any thing bad that I know of .
I have been building/repairing pc's since 1984 , I was just hoping someone might hae the silver bullet for this . I have seen IE8 with spybot/adaware slow down some .
