XP PRO: Unable to transfer more than 8K of data?

I have noticed that recently on aim in direct connections, when I insert an image and send it, often it stops at 8k. I have to break the connection and make a new one in order for it to send, and sometimes it takes several tries.

FTP access to my website was restored a few days ago, and I have found the same problem when attempting to send files via ftp. This occured on two different FTP clients. I have restored my OS back a week and reset my router, the problem still exists.

Any ideas?

Can you try with another computer on your LAN? Are you on a dial-up or broadband connection?

It's possible that your NIC went south, and is tempermental now. Try a new NIC if possible.

Routers usually kill your chances of connecting on aim and other messengers. You could try forwarding all your ports to your local workstation, and giving that a try. I assume you're on broadband, because you're behind a router to begin with?

IF that doesn't help, give a simple image hosting site a chance. [ http://pichold.com ] 🙂
