XP Pro/Ubuntu Dual Boot on SSD?

Due to excellent sales on SSDs lately, I have a spare 120G SSD I was thinking I might try with a Win XP Pro/Ubuntu dual boot computer.
Since XP Pro is not an ideal OS for an SSD and I've never tried a dual boot on an SSD, I was wondering if it is worth the effort.

There is nothing wrong with using an SSD on XP. Ensure you have aligned partitions before you begin and if you have an Intel or Samsung drive, you can use the toolbox for TRIM.

Unfortunately, it's neither a Samsung or Intel drive, it's a Vertex2 that I took out of my workstation and replaced with a Samsung 830. I don't really trust the Vertex2 but I'd like to keep it in service because I believe it will fail in the not too distant future and may need to be replaced while the warranty is still valid.
