OK, so I just reinstalled XP pro, formatted my drive, the whole 9 yards. For some reason, the boot process asks for me to select which version of windows I want to run, both of which load into the same OS (same programs installed, etc). Does anyone know how to fix this so it doesn't ask at startup? It's annoying to have a 30 second delay, especially when I'm not dual booting.

right-click my computer -> properties -> advanced -> startup and recovery -> settings.

Click Edit.

erase the duplicate entry.

It happens when there is a previous copy of XP on the drive when reinstalling. Even though you format the drive, XP still remembers that there was another copy, hence the two options during startup.

For the record, it's not XP it's the bootloader that is showing the multiple choices.
