XP Pro SP2 Zip file size limit

I right clicked on a file of 2.1GB size and clicked on "Send to" and clicked on "Compressed Zipped Folder". It failed. I recreated the file (backup file) and made it 1.3GB. This time, compression worked!

Am I right to assume that there is a file size limit?
What exactly is the limit?
How can it be increased?

yea.. zipfldr.dll uses a 32-bit signed value for size.. limiting it to a max of 2.0 gb.

you can't increase it.. use winrar, winzip, or 7-zip instead.
