I?m having scratchy sound problems with Windows XP Pro and my Soundblaster Live Value Card when I play Total Annihilation. One of the possible fixes that Microsoft recommends is to copy the whole CD-ROM to the hard drive. But, when I try that the game won?t play at all. What?s the deal on this?
I have no conflicts and tried the latest M$ and Creative drivers. I tried moving the card to another slot. It played fine on W98SE. I also have 512MB of memory. The CD-ROM and Hard Drive lights are active and game play slows when the sound starts acting up.
Is there something else that I may have missed??
