hi guys, i need some advice please.

first off, im an idiot.

i can appreciate this question has come up a million times before, and ive google seached this topic and ive got myself confused...

i got my PC awhile back and it came pre-installed with Windows ME. i gave the system to my brother, and got it back 2 years later with XP Pro (Coporate Edition) loaded on it. I think its an illegal copy...I wasnt too happy, as i like doing things by the book

anyway, im having problems with my pc and i think it needs to be formatted or needs a clean install of XP

my friend has offered to put another copy of XP Pro on my pc (which is another illegal copy) which im not comfortable with. id rather just get a genuine copy instead.

My question is, can i use an XP OEM CD, or do i need the full retail copy?

im not intending to transfer this OS to another system.

would this version be OK for me:

yours,

confused

thanks

I didn't click on the link but any OEM disc should be fine, the only real restriction is that the license is tied to the motherboard of the machine that you install it on.
