Hi,
I installed MCE 2005 in one of the machines at home and I cant seem to find it in Network Neighbourhood under my second machine with XP Pro. I understand that MCE2005 similar to XP Pro except for some downgraded networking functions. What kind of settings will I need to perform in other to have these two computers see each other?

Btw, I know that the network works. I can connect to the machine via VNC by using the internal ip address. But for some reason, I just cant find the machine in the windows network neighbourhood.

Any help is welcomed.

Thanks

Hmm. I will check on the windows firewall. I would have thought that it would be fine since it is working in the network. And btw, the workgroup name is the same.

subnet? same ip range?

ex 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.2
should use a subnet of 255.255.255.0

can you ping each other?

friends don't let friends use network neighborhood.

open up the run prompt, and type in \\computernameofmce and see what it does.
