XP Pro, IE6. Links always open on root window?

This is driving me NUTS!!!!! What is going on here?

After switching to XP and IE6 whenever I click on a link (The list of favorites that you can put in the tool bar under the address) the link always opens on the oldest explorer open, not the one I clicked on the links toolbar in.

SO If I am reading something and I want more info I open up a new IE, click on my link to google and the first window with the story open up to google and the new IE that I opened to go to google just sits blank.

ARGH!!

ANYONE?

This was an issue with IE 5.0, was fixed in 5.5, stayed fixed in a few betas of IE 6, but is now back in the final of IE6. I have the same problem and it bugs the hell out of me. I've heard they're aware of it (found it in the Microsoft Newsgroups somewhere) and I'm sure it'll be addressed in the first service pack for IE 6.
