If you have a built-in RAID controller or a RAID Controller card, you can do it by converting the C: drive to be a dynamic disk and then selecting drive D: to mirror.
Without a RAID controller of any kind, you cannot do it.

Wrong. XP doesnt' support software mirroring. Hardware mirring isn't done thru disk manager. If you have a hardware raid controller, it will be done below the OS (e.g. the OS won't know the drivers are mirrored, and will see just one drive reported to it)

If you have a Raid controller card or onboard Raid controller, you don't even need to convert to a dynamic disk as its all done at the hardware level and is completely transparent to the OS.

Software Raid is only available on the the server variants of Windows, and thats when you need dynamic disks.

Software RAID is available in XP Pro, it's just limited to RAID 0 or linear.
