xp pro: gpo to set admin$ and c$ shares?

i need these shares enabled at work on a number of machines that, for some reason, dont have them (when a vast majority do)

thing is, there could be 200 or 300 that need the change, and i really dont want to do it manually. i figured if i can find a way to get it set via gpo, then getting someone at work to make the change wont be a headache (probably)

any ideas? id assume doing this via gpo wouldnt require a reboot, because that would be manual work im trying to avoid anyway.

Windows will always have the admin$ and c$ shares.

If you're not able to access them, the machines probably have a firewall enabled that is preventing access to windows file and print sharing.

If they are not visible, either the firewall is enabled without exceptions, or they've been disabled via a registry key. You can create a GPO to disable or modify the firewall, or change the registry key, whichever happens to be the case.
