xp pro corporate???

Corporate edition means that you use a particular serial key when you install the software (given to you by the company), and it does not require "activation". The commercial version of XP does require activation. That's the only difference between the two, that I'm aware of.

I believe so, IIRC Microsoft made companies shell out more money for a new serial for those OS's.

It will work, but that doesn't mean it's legal. Basically if you have to ask us about it, you're probably breaking the law.

Anand and most of us don't condone software piracy...

If you can't afford to pay for your software find a free alternative, there's plenty of them.

Buying XP is expensive. I basically scrounged around for deals to get my copies. I got one copy of XP Pro through the MS Go Pro or whatever promotion. I got one with my laptop and I got another copy of XP Home for the family computer.

If you're going to use WinXP for just regular computer use (internet, office apps, some games), then all you need is XP Home. I was able to get a legit copy for about $50 on the FS/FT forum.
