XP Pro CHKDSK- Checkdisk always runs on boot

This is so annoying. Chekdisk runs every time I boot up on XP Pro. No errors. It takes over an hour to boot my computer. My computer isn't dirty. I tried using the chkntfs also and it's fine.

When that happens Windows thinks theres a problem with the drive and usually it's right.

I agree. I'd suggest running your HDD mfg's diag utility to check the status of the drive. Disconnect any external drives (if applicable) and see what happens.

Speaking of CHKDSK, when you do a full chkdsk of an external harddrive(like a USB hdd), where does it store the log? I recently dropped mine and some of the files got corrupted so I formatted it(which worked) and then I wanted to do a chkdsk to see if there were bad sectors, and it completed, but I have no idea where the log is.
