I installed Windows XP Pro and was ahving a few problems with my video card and my sound card.
I have fixed the video card, but am still having problems with sound. I can play games and the sound works great. When ever Windows tries to make a sound the speakers just start buzzing and stay that way until I reboot. It will also do it if I alt-tab out of a game. I have tried eveyrhting I can think of to get rid of this problem, but I can't. I have reinstalled XP twice, but the problem is still there.
I just have a cheap Pine sound card with a Crystal Chipset. Would buying a new sound card fix the problem? If so, what is a good sound card? I don't want to spend more than $40-50.
Thansk,
Chris
BTW my system is:
Athlon 1.2GHz
Asus A7V-E
256MB RAM
Radeon 64MB DDR VIVO
Pine Crystal Chipset sound card.
