xp pro activation key problem

hi- i traded with someone on the forums for a winxp pro nfs and i used it once. i installed a new motherboard and re-installed the os and now when i go to activate it i get an error message saying that this key has been used too many times.

anybody else had this happen? and what do i do now?

Call microsoft and explain the situation. If you go back through the wizard and tell it you want to activate over the phone, it will give you a number to call.
 
thanks, derango. i did get that message but i wasn't sure if i should mention where i got the software if they asked, so i thought i would get some input here before i called.

do you know if all the nfs xp discs are one use only? or did i get a "lucky" one?

call microsoft and tell them you changed out all the hardware on your computer. They will ask you what you changed, just name everything. Then they will ask you your name and finally, they will give you an acvtivation key.
