NFR = not for resale??

So basically OEM.
Surplus computers is legit but the OEM licenses are not transferrable and cannot be sold without accompanying qualified products.

Please Note: This is a fully functional original Microsoft CD with installation key code and CD. On the CD it states you must legally own a copy of their license to use this CD. This software installs, fully activatable & registerable like the Commercial Versions you find in the retail stores. This item is shipped in an environmentally friendly packaging without the box.

This version DOES NOT come in a retail box. It comes with a CD & Authentic Keycode for activation and registration.

And I have bought several things from them and they are legit and thoes are hot prices provided you dont ever plan on reselling the discs. But then you could provided your selling a floppy cable for $70 and the disc comes free.

They are reselling not for resell copies.

10. NOT FOR RESALE SOFTWARE. Software identified as "Not For Resale" or "NFR," may not be sold or otherwise transferred for value, or used for any purpose other than demonstration, test or evaluation.

EULA <-- For home, but the NFR part would be the same. I only copy I found for PRO was a PDF, screw that.

Newegg is only $37 more for the Pro edition
If you really want to save the few bucks this looks more legit
XP Pro $117
resellerratings

You need to be careful with the OEM versions. Things like replacing your hard drive due to a failure or replacing your CPU to upgrade can invalidate your license and require you to repurchase to be compliant...

Unless you specifically need XP64 because you're running 64 bit apps all over the place, don't bother. Hardware drivers are scarce and many manufacturers are not going to support it since Vista is around the corner.

What drivers problem? No problemo...Mine's been running like a charm (not to mention FAST) since January (see AMD sig)

That's very expensive considered purchasing from school. I paid $5.00 for each window XP (home/pro/64) via my daughter's school. :)

It's installed on 5 workstations in my office. They can't use 4 of the 5 of our HP printers, and the 5th one they can use only works by using built in drivers for another model. 64 bit modem drivers are non-existant, so if you need to use your PC as a fax server, don't bother. Realtek came out with 64 bit sound drivers for built in realtek chips, but they're fairly unstable.

Out of the 40 PC's we have on site here, those 5 are the most problematic. It works well, but there's no hardware support.

SurplusComputers is a good site! I order small cheapies from them all the time, they ship pretty quickly and get here in a reasonable amt of time. I wouldn't want to try to return something from what I hear tho

I have a dell oem xp pro I bought with the key that I have used on my computer and had to reformat a few times and have swapped out motherboards. At times it told me I couldnt register the software and to call and everytime I called it in they gave me a new set of numbers to type in to get it working again. I would assume the same could be doen with these as well no?

yup, microsoft just runs the number you put in I think, and checks how mnay times it regitered, and from how mnay different IP's. I think thats how they tell if it is out in the open or not.
