xp por and xp home net problems

I am trying to set up a network between three computers, one using xp home edition and the other 2 using xp pro. This is done through a G Net 5 port 10/100 switch SS0105 router. ALl of the proper cords are conected into the router however, only the computer with home edition has accessable internet. While the computers with xp pro just don't connect. The local area conection icon appears with a connection of 100mbps but it doesn't connect to anything. Any ideas, suggestions?

thanks

Are you using DHCP? Make sure they're all on the same subnet. To find out the IP/subnet go to a command prompt and type ipconfig and make sure the first three sets of numbers in the ip are the same(thats if the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0)

yeah they need to be on the same subnet, I'm guessing they have a static IP set so go into that nics tcp/ip properties and set it to dhcp(I'm assuming dhcp is on on the router)

under tcp/ip advanced properties it is showing that dhcp is enabled.

also tried manually changing the subnet mask + default gateway on xp pro to what xp home says and still nothing.

any other sugestions?

whats the ip on the home machine? and is it on dhcp? You want the first 3 on the pro machine to match that of the home machine and the last number set to something that the home machine isn't and also something the router isn't(routers are normally xxx.xxx.xxx.1) the number has to be under 255.
