Whenever I run XP, it seems to like to use around 100mb of my page file without finishing using my 384mb. Is there a reason it likes to go the the HD first? Anything I can do to correct this, like the one win.ini setting in 98?
Thanks
Basically, W2K and XP are designed to use the pagefile for certain minor housekeeping type things. This in no way slows you down and there is nothing you can do to stop it. The thinking being that why waste any RAM if you don't have to. (yea I know, strange thinking considering it's coming from Microsoft) Keep in mind that most PC's these days still have 128M or less of RAM.
