XP OS install...

Just built a new system and for some reason I'm getting an error upon installing WinXP. The error is BAD_POOL_HEADER.

Only thing I can think of is I originally tried installling with 98 and then planned on using an upgrade to XP disc. But I suppose the computer technology has advanced to far for it as it kept freezing halfway through 98. I would assume I need to format the harddrive to get around my errors but I can't figure out how to do it since I'm stuck halfway through an installation.

I'm sure somebody here will have some ideas.

if you want to try reformatting before installing, have the windows xp in the tray, restart the computer, then it'll ask you to boot from cd before it loads the os.

i haven't had this happen to me, but try <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=BAD_POOL_HEADER&btnG=Google+Searc
">google</a> . hope you'll find something.

That's actually what I'm doing. Found out what was causing the error but now I'm getting another error.

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

Sigh I've never had an issue with any system I've built until now and I'm completely clueless on what to do.
