Hello,
I seem to having problems getting my win xp pro box to browse my peer-peer LAN. When I click on MyNetworkPlaces I get "Not Accessible....May not have permission to view network resource". Now when this was a 2k box (as are the other LAN PC's) there was not a problem... The xp box has user accounts set up as admins with the correct names and passwords that match the other users on the LAN. I'm using TCP/IP with NetBIOS enabled and staic ip addresses assigned (along with appropriate subnet mask). The computers all use 3COM-905C-TX-M NIC's with latest drivers. connecting through a netgear FS108 switch. Other machines can see my shared drive (I have disabled simple file sharing) but I cannot access them through networkplaces. It will not let me browse it. I have been through local security policy adjusting a few of the more common culprits but still can't get a fix. All the computers have unique names and belong to the same workgroup. I can ping them all successfully and they can ping me. I can use netview to see all their shares and they can see mine. Finally, I do not have a firewall enabled.
Help!
Thanks in advance (I can see from reading the forums that others have similar experiences - but I can't see a genuine fix yet).
