XP/multiple accounts/printing

My brother-in-law has XP on one of his machines. He also has a Lexmark multi-function printer installed.

Recently he decided to create user accounts on the XP machine. After doing so, he could not print from any account.

My suggestion was to uninstall the printer, recreate the accounts, then reinstall the printer. (having no other ideas). I don't know if he tried this or not.. and if so, if it worked.

IAC, why would this have occured and how should it be properly addressed?
