Okay, I know I saw stuff about this a while ago, but I've just upgraded to XP Pro. I've attempted this on my TDK 16x10x40 and my LiteOn 241040. Both of them have made flawless audio cd's under 2000.
Nero & EZ CD Creator - both make the CD's (issue with Nero on the TDK that I'm looking into) and the CD plays fine in my CD player (old Kenwood from college days). However, when I attempt to play it with Winamp3 or WMP, it just pops up an error. WMP gives me an error stating "Invalid MCI device ID. User the ID returned when opening the MCI device"
Winamp gives me another error, but it pops up and goes away before I can read it. I assume it is similar to this. Anyone have an idea what the h-e-double hockey sticks is up with this?
It's late...I'm tired and have a weekend of driving coming up and I want to mix some CD's. BTW, it does not matter whether they are MP3's or WAV files that I burn....same thing happens on each.
Info: XP Pro, all the latest updates. Don't think it's the burning software, because I installed EZ after I already tested Nero. Same results on each. Tried PIO and DMA mode for the drives. Have not uninstalled Winamp3 to see if that is causing any issues. Also have CloneCD loaded, no tray in the box.
Asus A7V333
512MB Ram
GF3 Ti500 (latest drivers)
Game Theater (latest)
Anyone with any ideas? I'd greatly appreciate it......I'm hitting the sack before I get any more insane in the membrane....
