XP mode option not appearing under program Properties

I'm trying to run an old game that is suggested be run in XP mode. But I right clicked its icon and went to properties, but there was no XP or comparability button. I had installed XP mode just for this purpose on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. But while I can open up the virtual emulated desktop within Windows 7 just fine, the tab isn't there when I go into properties of programs (in 7). Why is this?

The XP Mode is Not a Mode in Win 7 it is for practical purposes an independent computer running XP.

😎

XP mode is virtual machine. No apps installed on host OS (windows 7) will be runnable in XP mode. To run them in XP mode, you have to launch XP mode, and install them there. Then you'll see entry in Windows 7 start menu for XP applications

So wait, all my apps and extractors and stuff are windows 7. Do I have to download everyone for XP to make this one game work? DirectX9, everything?

Yeah, the Win XP needs to have every thing needed as though it is independent computer.

Depending on the game, you might be able to get a new version that's patched to run on Windows 7 from GOG.com. Rebuying the game $5 or whatever might be better than the hassle of getting it working in XP Mode (if it works at all, 3D games generally don't work in VMs).

I've been wanting to play Knights of The Old Republic again.

No go on a Windows 7 machine huh? 🙁
