Hi

I'm having some trouble with startup programs. Whenever i restart or turn on the computer, my startup programs (such as AVG and Creative Volume Panel) will start at random or not at all. It's only very recently that im having this problem. I've tried Ashampoo WinOptimizer and good old msconfig to no avail.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Be sure that your PC is not infected with spyware or viruses. CCleaner (Free) is a fair broom to clean up your PC. Ad-Aware Free is a good start to find spyware.

Remove WinOptimizer and set msconfig in normal settings. Hopefully you have defragmented - see Start, Desktop Accessories, System Tools - the disk(s) and restarted also checked the disk (Tool within C-disk properties).

It is advised first to download a new AVG Free download and store it on a memory stick, then disconnect the network cable. Uninstall AVG Free and restart. Install the fresh AVG Free (from your memorystick copied to your harddisk) and restart. Plug in the network cable and download the updates for AVG Free then restart again.
