XP MCE or XP PRO???

If it's not a media centre PC that comes with MCE, then I say go regular. MCE really has some compatibility issues and is hard to get working with some hardware. MCE won't do anything that you can't do with other software anyway.

Yeah, but any software that can do it as well is gonna cost you extra.

Still, I think I'd prefer XP Home + extra for the software than MCE. I wouldn't consider XP Pro outside of a networked environment.
