I'm planning on buying a XP-M real soon here, to replace my current desktop XP2200, I'm also swaping out the Mobo in this system with the AOpen AK79D-400VN (nForce2 Ultra 400) from my other rig, but will be using my 768MB's of DDR333 (2x256 2.5 CL matching & 1x256 2.5CL), from this rig in it. Hopefully utilize Dual Channel for a small boost. But I want to get a XP-M chip preferably a 35W if not 45W chip, & run it at a 333FSB to match RAM, I also plan on buying the Thermaltake Subzero4G TEC cooler, to use in it & replace my Coolermaster JET7 I want to do a a mild to average OC on this setup, but don't want to exceed the 72Watt max rating for this cooler ( I think this matters, from what I understand, I still don't understand some of this temp rating stuff so bear with me), also don't have too much to spend on a CPU & performance upgrade, otherwise I would be getting a nice watercooling setup instead.

So my main question is, what XP-M CPU is the best to get & stay within the conditions above?

Also, if I got a 35W or 45W stock rated CPU about how much of an OC would I get by the time I got to about 70W of heat disappation? I think this last question is my main concern. I'm fine with a CPU running at 35-40C, (got plenty of cooling in my Antec case (intake & outtake that is)

I hope some of this makes sense?

TIA, for any help!!!

I never used a mobile, but I have a 2500+ Barton that OC'd very nicely. I hit over 2.4Ghz on air. I would recommend a 2500+, because that way you get the Barton core, 512KB L2 Cache, and a 333Mhz FSB out of the box. Also, you might investigate if you can OC your system to a 400Mhz FSB (i.e. if your RAM can keep up). That way you get the best performance for the money.

Won't using 3 sticks defeat dual channel? still more is better probably.

Check out the Mobile Athlon OC Results thread
The 2600's are dominating now, Manzelle just got one up to 2.75 on AC air, but they are more expensive, and he is quite fortunate. At the other end some people are going for the lowest ratings, 2000+ and 2200+. 2200+ at least. Oldman got his to 2.5 on air.
