Howdy,

I'm looking to purchase this laptop which says:

Mobile AMD Athlon? XP-M processor 2400+ with QuantiSpeed? architecture* and AMD PowerNow!? technology
*Operates at 1.8GHz

How does that compare in speed to a Pentium X.X Ghz? I see it says 1.8 but is that the QuantiSpeed thing or the whole processor is really only a 1.8? I don't know how the Athlon mobilse compare to the Pentium 4 or Pentium Ms.

Thanks.

Should compare well with a 2.4ghz P4. Not sure though, but the higher speed Centrino might be pretty close as well.

i'm pretty sure that a 1.4 ghz centrino kicks the crap out of a 1.8 ghz amd mobile...

the centrino's have 1 meg of L2 and a 1.4 ghz is equivalent to about a 2.0-2.2 ghz p4.

Hard to say, certainly would to a P4 1.8ghz, but the Athlon is quite a different comparison.

There must be a review somewhere.
