XP low 3DMark2001 scores ???

Hi,
I finally took the plunge and made a fresh install of XP Professional, after previously using ME. Now seem to be getting really low 3DMark 2001 scores than when originally using ME ??? Getting average score of around 5200 with XP....with ME was averaging 8000, any suggestions ???

Basics of system are.....
Windows XP Professional...All updates downloaded
AMD XP1800 CPU
Asus GeForce3 Vid card.....Nvidia 28.32 Drivers (had same score with original drivers ?)
Asus A7V266-E Mobo
512 MB Crucial PC2100
Sonic Fury Sound Card

While lower socres usually result from using XP, your drop is waaaaaaaaaay too much. I notice drops are usually around 5% or so. Are you using WHQL drivers (they enable vsync always). Also how well are your games running?
