XP logs onto the net by itself...

I just upgraded from 98SE to XP. Now everytime I turn on the machine XP logs itself onto the net after it boots.
I did the uprade to preserve the programs on the hard drive. As opposed to formatting then installing.

Don't laugh. This is my second machine, used mainly for burning!
 
What's the problem? I assume you'd like it not to log onto the net?
Check your setup options under IE.
