XP login wierdness

Damn Opera closed the window on me sorry - problem is, the logion screen with XP that has the 'basic 5' users, and their icons, you can click on any icon, wont log in, just highlights the icon.

Have to do ctl-alt-del and you get the old NT-style login. WHich is fine w/me but allthe others at htehouse will b*hch about it...I did not change/edit anything in the user panel, anyone got a clue?
 
Can you change this by going into the control panel, and then choosing users, then change the way user logs on or off?

.Net 1.1 could break the logon like this also. The fix was to install the 1.1 service pack.
