Also how do i set it so that whenever my computer is idle it doesn't log me off and i have to click on that picture again (in the blue screen) to log back in? You can use TweakUI (part of the XP powertoys) to log in automatically for you.

You can also go under Control Panel --> Users, and change the login screen to look like the classic Win98/2K instead of the XP theme.

Are you the only user on the machine? If so, goto Control Panel -> User Accounts. Then click change the way users log on/off. You can disable the welcome screen there. Then you will be presented with the old-style login screen, so if you don't care about security then you could use TweakUI to enable auto-login. Not sure if there is a better way of doing it.

As for your second question, that might have to do with Fast User Switching. I disabled that too since I'm the only user on my machine. After disabling it in User Accounts, you can switch the service to Manual in Computer Administration -> Services.
