XP Log In/Off

How can i set XP Pro so that whenever i turn on my computer i dont have to click on the icon/picture to log in as administrator? Also how do i set it so that whenever my computer is idle it doesn't log me off and i have to click on that picture again (in the blue screen) to log back in? I tried the thing iin display properties -> screen saver and it didnt work.

You can use TweakUI (part of the XP powertoys) to log in automatically for you.

You can also go under Control Panel --> Users, and change the login screen to look like the classic Win98/2K instead of the XP theme.

Are you the only user on the machine? If so, goto Control Panel -> User Accounts. Then click change the way users log on/off. You can disable the welcome screen there. Then you will be presented with the old-style login screen, so if you don't care about security then you could use TweakUI to enable auto-login. Not sure if there is a better way of doing it.

As for your second question, that might have to do with Fast User Switching. I disabled that too since I'm the only user on my machine. After disabling it in User Accounts, you can switch the service to Manual in Computer Administration -> Services.
