Ok hello there. i have looked around a ton(13+ computers) and have been using the same windows XP pro cd. i have 4 comps in my house. an athlon xp 2000, 1800, 1600, and a pentium 3 550 Mhz. they all have 256 mb pc133 except the 2000+ has 384 pc133. They all have the same WD 20gb hard drive. the question is, why does the intel based system load windows xp so freakin fast compared to my athlon xp based systems. I have also went to circuit city and a 1.1ghz celeron loaded faster then one of there 1900+ based systems. my question is, WHY!!?? If possible, i would like to have my athlon XP 2000+ based system load real fast,(the 1.1ghz celeron did the win xp screen in 1 and a half seconds). If i wou;d need to format my harddrive then forget it, but if possible to make my sys load faster, plese help. Thanks alot.

Other than a fast CPU...loading time is influence by the no. of components u hv in ur box...WinXP detects those components.

Then, the no. of start-up programs, the level of disk fragmentation, the no. of drivers u load at start-up...the list goes on.

So, it's hard to tell.
